410 Noor | South San Francisco, CA
The former Century Theaters site in South San Francisco sits next to the Lindenville neighborhood and shopping center, within walking distance of San Bruno BART and with easy access to the 101 and 280 freeways. SyRES Properties envisions 410 Noor, a transit-oriented community of 342 dwelling units that will give the site a new life.
Bringing that many homes to a former theater site calls for a scale that feels residential. The plan divides the project into three sister buildings of varying heights, from three to five floors, with complementary architecture. Familiar exterior materials of plaster, brick and board and batten fiber cement panels, together with lush planting and residential stoops along every building frontage, are designed to create an active, residential environment at the street. BDE Architecture is partnering with SyRES Properties to shape these buildings into a cohesive neighborhood.
When complete, 410 Noor will offer a paseo and courtyard with kid-friendly play areas and barbecue facilities, integrated with indoor resident amenity spaces. A large community garden will invite residents and neighbors alike to enjoy outdoor space and fresh produce, turning a former movie theater site into a place to grow.
